NZ Rugby tasked TBD with creating collateral for the women’s
Rugby World Cup 2021. Much of the collateral functioned as
event organisational, promotional, and event summarisation
material. The design style was driven by their branding and past
work examples we were given so one of the main objectives was
keeping within their guidelines and aesthetic. This was achieved
through consistency of typeface and colour throughout all
documents. Readability, and clean aesthetic was paramount for the
organisational material we produced.
KEY MATERIALS
The key materials TBD produced that are presented here: promotional social media tiles, print collateral/information design, presentations and reports, maps of the three stadiums, marketing material for Wā Poi fan engagement initiative, and the event organisational material such as menus and itineraries.
One of the main ways TBD created visual interest within the set aesthetics was through the use of illustrations. Most illustrations were used to lift the interest on the page and aid in clarity. Colour coding was important for tying aspects of the collateral together as well as breaking up large amounts of type. We used tables and infographics often to visualise data in an interesting way.
