The Wellington Phoenix and New Zealand Performance Academy (NZPAA) tasked us with creating a brand for their boarding school for student athletes.
It needed to appear closely connected to the Phoenix, with NZPAA as a secondary association. We mimicked the swooping lines and sharp points of the Phoenix logo and merged the colors of the Phoenix yellow and NZPAA forest green into a bright olive shade. The logo itself features cupped hands forming a wharenui in the negative space. The logotype is a square, condensed, sporty-looking sans-serif font also used by the Phoenix. We primarily use shades of olive, black, white, and grey in the branding. As part of the brand, we have created digital collateral such as a presentation template, email signatures, and the website design, as well as print media including signage and banners. Overall, this is a clean and bold brand with a strong theme that we hope will be used by NZPAA and the Phoenix for years to come.
